Long-time industry experts Todd Leventhal and Stan Koschnick - both executives with O-Cedar Brands and Vining Industries with more than sixty years combined experience in the cleaning industry - bought the Commercial Division in 2003 from O-Cedar Brands. The new company, NCP Commercial, is the exclusive licensee of O-Cedar Commercial® products for the commercial marketplace.

On December 26, 2003, NCP Commercial acquired the Clore Mop Company, a regional third generation mop manufacturer located in Danville, Indiana. During 2003, its first year as a private company, sales grew an impressive 20 percent. The successful introduction of more than 55 new items, including a complete line of microfiber products, wet mops, mop buckets and wringers, and chemicals, helped spur this growth - all under the O-Cedar Commercial® products brand name.

O-Cedar, the most recognized and prominent manufacturer of cleaning tools in the United States, was founded in 1906. The original founders started the company making waxes and cleaning polishes and later expanded to traditional brooms and mops. In 1952 they sold the company to American-Marietta who sold it to the Drackett Corporation ten years later. In the thirty years they owned the company, the Drackett Corporation invested heavily in new product development and advertising that helped grow the O-Cedar brand name in the marketplace. During this time, the Angler® Broom, Power Strip® Sponge Mop and the Twist ‘N Mop® Self-Wringing Mop, all O-Cedar innovations, became the top three items in the cleaning industry.

In 1993 a venture capital company simultaneously purchased O-Cedar and Vining Industries, another equally large manufacturer of cleaning tools run by the Leventhal family of Springfield, Ohio. This combined company, O-Cedar Brands, became America’s largest manufacturer of cleaning tools.

In 1997 O-Cedar Brands entered the commercial marketplace. Since the company had a long, successful history selling cleaning tools to the retail market and a brand name not only recognized by a significant percentage of the population but synonymous with quality and innovation, it only made sense to introduce a special line of heavy-duty cleaning products to the commercial marketplace.

Today, NCP Commercial is in its third year has achieved double-digit growth each year. NCP Commercial now has its products manufactured and distributed out of its two main facilities located in the Midwest.
